5-Star Beach Hotel Receives Award for Sound Business Model, Pursuit of Excellence

Dubai, UAE - 14 March, 2007  Last night, the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah was presented with the highly acclaimed and prestigious Dubai Quality Award at a glittering ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai.

General Manager Christian H. Muhr proudly accepted the award on behalf of the hotel and its 520 team members.

"In the words of Conrad Hilton, dating back to 1954, 'it has been and continues to be our responsibility to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality'.  The Dubai Quality Award is testimony to our hotel's operating model, which drives for excellence and inspires our team to strive for more," he said

Elaborating on the importance of quality in the hotel industry, Muhr added, "Dubai is a destination which is envied by many others in the hospitality industry.  While all of the hotels boast beautiful hardware, it is the people and the quality of the product and service that sets hotels apart."

He continued, "Hilton Dubai Jumeirah recognizes that to achieve the highest standards of hospitality, everyone on the team needs a clear "road map" outlining where they are going, with constant measurement and review.   The process of applying for the Dubai Quality Award has enabled us to evaluate our systems, how we do things, why we do things, and what the results are. Ultimately, we see the direct relationship between these areas and the quality of the guests' experience."

"It doesn't end with the award, in fact it just begins.  At Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, we believe that the application for the award is the very first step.  We embraced the experience as an opportunity not only to document our activities and business strategy, but to revisit key areas and identify weaknesses.   To our team, the Dubai Quality Award represents an ongoing process of improvement."

The Dubai Quality Award is a process for recognizing role model organizations that embrace best practices with systematic deployment, measurement and review. The award is based on the Excellence Model of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) which provides a holistic framework for organizational excellence.

To receive the Dubai Quality Award, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah demonstrated sustained improvement as a result of their dedication to a comprehensive quality control programme.
