Initiative Targets Small and Medium Enterprises with Integrated and Efficient Business Models

Dubai: 12 December, 2006 - Dubai Properties today announced the launch of Tijara Town, an AED 6 billion freehold master development targeting small and medium enterprises. The new development will span 188 hectares and will be located in Dubailand on Al Ain Road, close to Emirates Road

Tijara Town will be the first project in Dubai to offer integrated office, showroom, warehouse, and apartments as one unit. It offers 51 customizable freehold mixed-used units of 7,700 square metres each that will help businesses improve efficiency through low operational costs.

Tijara Town will offer world-class facilities and infrastructure to enterprises located in the development. The Tijara Town Trade Centre will be a premier consumer and trade exhibition facility where producers and retailers can permanently showcase and promote products. It will have a state-of-the-art exhibition hall, auditorium, serviced executive office suites and meeting rooms, multi-purpose viewing galleries, VIP lounges, restaurants and cafs.

Tijara Town's two four-star hotels will cater to the needs of business visitors with serviced apartments, a 24-hour coffee shop and fine dining restaurants.

The residential sector will feature traditional low to medium-rise buildings, and the commercial sector will house showrooms, warehouses and offices. The development will be serviced by retail outlets, schools and parks, and other community centres.

Construction has already begun on Phase I of Tijara Town, and is expected to be completed by 2008.
