Besides raising awareness of the Center, Dubai arbitrators will also meet their global counterparts at the event
Dubai, UAE: After the success of its first overseas arbitration dialogue held in London last March, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry's initiative of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) is organising its 4th Arbitration Dialogue in Paris on November 16, 2010.
Entitled "Meet DIAC and its Executive Committee" the open dialogue is being held at Hotel Prince De Galles on the sidelines of the 27th the American Arbitration Association (AAA), ICC International Court of Arbitration, and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Joint Colloquium on International Arbitration.
The purpose of this international open dialogue is to raise awareness of the Centre and to provide a fitting platform for international users of DIAC to meet directly the Executive Committee members and to have an open discussion with them about DIAC rules and services that are at par with the ones provided by the leading arbitration centres in the world.
The panel of speakers includes Prof Martin Hunter, Chairman, DIAC Board of Trustees, Dr Nael Bunni, Chairman, Dr Hadif Al Owais, DIAC Acting Director, Vice-Chairman, DIAC Executive Committee and the Executive Committee members including Michael E. Schneider, Dr Tarek Fouad A. Riad and Dr Fathi Kemicha who will discuss a range of important topics relating to commercial arbitration and neutrality, notably transparency and fairness in the arbitration, and cost issues related to arbitration cases.
As a leading arbitration centre in the region, DIAC seeks to provide a flexible and impartial mechanism in resolving and settling international disputes. It oversees the procedures of arbitration in commercial disputes, appointment of arbitrators, fixing the place of arbitration and the arbitrators' fees. Playing its role of a pioneer in arbitration in the region, the Centre-organized open dialogues in London was attended by over 75 participants and was a huge success as it helped in enhancing the reputation of the Centre globally.
