EFFECTIVE COASTLINE MONITORING AND SAFETY OF BEACHGOERS DISCUSSED

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently organised a presentation for the representatives of beach hotels and a water theme park on the Dubai Beach Safety Study undertaken by the Dubai Municipality.

The civic body has undertaken an integrated analysis of beach safety management in Dubai - public and hotel beaches - through this study. A consultancy firm has completed the Preliminary Design Stage of the study. The presentation covered the progress of the study.

The presentation underlined the importance of setting standards and effective monitoring to ensure safety of beachgoers. Other issues discussed included regulations that may help resolve the problem of Jet skis and 4WD vehicles on the beaches. Members also stressed the importance of quick access to quality emergency medical facilities.

The department invited all the beach hotels including Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, Metropolitan Resort & Beach Club, Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Le Royal Meridien, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, Jumeirah Beach Club Resort & Spa, Sheraton Jumeirah Beach, Ritz Carlton, One & Only Royal Mirage in addition to the Wild Wadi water park.

The Dubai Municipality obtained the feedback of the industry and thanked the DTCM for the cooperation.
