Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) is organizing the 9th Dubai Forum for Government Best Practice, under the theme “Government of Youth.. Government of the Future”. The event will take place on 25-26 October at Dubai World Trade Centre.

HE. Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of Dubai Executive Council, stated astounding success of the Forum in previous years: “This year, the Forum is inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance the role of youth and their active participation in society and the different parts of government work as exceptional leaders at the government of the future. The Forum includes several activities and events that aim to promote the role of youth in building the country, and invest their creative power to realize an exceptional future we all dream of”.

“Dubai Forum for Government Best Practice is a unique opportunity to leverage local and global experiences in government work to provide best-in-class services. The Forum hosts select leaders of government work and major experts from friendly countries distinguished in the field, in addition to presenting best government practice by the government entities winning DGEP Award, who were able to take government work to the highest levels, and have exceeded ambitions in their performance and quality of service”, he added.

He also said that reaching the government of the future is up to the youth who have creative potential and innovative capabilities that open the door wide to an unparalleled future of excellence and innovation.

“Over the past years, Dubai Forum for Government Best Practice has contributed to promote the concepts and applications of excellence, innovation, quality, and knowledge transfer. Exposure to, learning from, and exceeding best practice at all levels – organizations and individuals – is an effective way to ensure sustainability of excellence, pioneering, and success for government entities”, said Dr. Ahmed Al Nusairat, DGEP General Liaison.

“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has laid down the foundation for the government of the future when said: A Government cannot build sustainable development for its people without actual involvement of the youth. He looked at the youth as key partner in development, which is what we aim to enhance and promote through Dubai Forum for Government Best Practice and other programs organized by DGEP which aim to promote concepts of pioneering in government work, and enabling youth to undertake their active national role, as well as support them as a key foundation for the future”, he added.

Dr. Nusairat stated that the Forum aims to identify experiences and achievements of government entities, teams, projects, initiatives, and employees who won at DGEP categories. It also serves as a platform for exposure to modern trends and key challenges of government work, as well as the practical solutions to overcome them, as narrated by experts and leaders of government work. The Forum also helps in enhancing principles and applications of knowledge transfer and continuous learning from experiences deemed to be best local and international management practices in terms of youth involvement, and developing their skills to enhance their roles as leaders in the government of the future.

“Emirates Telecoms Corp. (Etisalat) works as a strategic partner for the Forum this year. Also, the Forum covered by Dubai Media Corporation. This is something we value highly, and view as undertaking of the patriotic role of both organizations”, he concluded.

Forum Themes

The Forum is an opportunity for attendees and participants to see local and international experiences in the field of youth and future government. It presents a variety of distinguished government projects and initiatives, and awareness films on government best practices. It also hosts a number of interactive sessions on the government of youth and the future, and reviews success & excellence factors in government teams and projects, as well as the elements of excellence within Mohammed Bin Rashid Initiative for Government Innovation – Ibdaa.

The Forum will host select leaders and experts from the government sector who will provide some speeches that sum their experiences in leading a distinguished organization. There will also be global speakers and experts in various fields such as youth development and qualification for future jobs, the art of communicating with the youth, and others.

Additionally, a number of government employees and officials will present in the panel sessions their success stories, and how they achieved excellence and innovation, as well their achievements that secured their win of DGEP Award.

Furthermore, during the Forum, a number of cases and success stories by top young UAE entrepreneurs in various fields will be discussed.
