Another Step towards Easing the Filming Process in Dubai
Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC), the organisation committed to establishing Dubai and the UAE as a leading filming destination for local and international productions, has announced details about its new locations fee restructure, for filming in government, government related entities (GRE) and semi government locations across Dubai.
The reduced fees are in line with DFTC's mandate to reduce the cost of media production, and follow the organisation's recent announcement that processing fees have been reduced from 800 to 500 AED for filming permits in Dubai. Permit applications must be submitted a minimum of five (5) business days prior to the first filming day.

GREs and Semi Government fees have been changed to a maximum of up to 25,000 AED, however it is up to the location owner to set the final fee.
Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission and Managing Director of Dubai Studio City, said:
"We are always looking at ways we can enhance the filming process in Dubai, and ensure that it is as efficient and cost-effective as possible. Our latest fee restructure is a direct response to feedback that we have received from our business partners and production companies regarding the cost of filming in the emirate, and part of our commitment towards ensuring a seamless filming experience. Our new fee structure and permit incorporates an extended filming period, ensuring that filmmakers and producers can enjoy more filming days for their fees."
DFTC's online system for the application of filming permits provides an easy registration and application process for all filmmakers and production companies, and provides details about visas, permits, fees etc.
