Oracle has actively worked with Dubai Customs in advising and assisting it with the technology strategies planned for the future of Dubai, including the concept of Service Orientated Architecture." said Fadi Abdel Khalek. Mirsal 2 is regarded as a world leading Customs applications suite built in compliance with World Customs Organization best practices and adopted Service Oriented Architecture in its design. Dubai Customs was one of the pioneer organizations within the world to utilize Oracle SOA platform for this purpose. Its worth noting that Mirsal 2 was officially launched on March 2010 and the first of its modules implemented back in January 2008.
