Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Rockers and driving enthusiasts flocked to Dubai Bike Week for three days, to experience a HUMMER weekend 'Like Nothing Else' at Dubai Media City.

HUMMER, Harley Davidson and other sponsors presented the third annual Dubai Bike Week, which kicked off on Thursday 5th April with the famed Thunder Parade, weaving 50 HUMMERs and 300 Harley Davidson bikes through the streets of Dubai, from Burj Al Arab to the Al Ain Road.  The event featured performances from the legendary Tommy Lee, Puddle of Mudd, FIREBRANDS (EMI) and BrotherManDude, as they propelled the crowd into an unforgettable experience with their electrifying beats and unique shows.  Renowned stunt rider Craig Jones also wowed audiences with his defying stunts on various Harley Davidson motorbikes throughout the weekend.

HUMMER went the extra mile by providing a purpose built off road track, giving HUMMER enthusiasts the opportunity to put the vehicles' exceptional performance and handling capabilities to the test.

"HUMMER is an iconic brand that appeals to individualists, just like rock enthusiasts," commented Ahmed Soudodi, HUMMER brand manager at General Motors Middle East. "We had a significant number of guests test driving the HUMMERs on the purpose-built track we constructed, and they were all left with a lasting impression of the vehicle's performance and handling capabilities, which are truly unmatched."

Handpicked HUMMER models also captivated the audience's attention during the HUMMER lifestyle show, displaying everything HUMMER fans desire from clothes, stereos, bikes and much more. In addition to all the excitement offered at the HUMMER stage, audiences were able to chill out and absorb the sights and sounds of the third annual Dubai Bike Week, in a zone that boasted an impressive range of restaurants and food and drink outlets.

Guests were also given the opportunity to enjoy a ride in a HUMMER for a mere fee of 10 AED, with proceeds going to the Dubai Autism Centre.

"HUMMER HUB members flew in from across the region to participate in the Thunder Parade and attend the Dubai Bike Week," added Soudodi. "This goes to show that the passion behind owning a HUMMER and being part of the HUMMER culture is truly like nothing else."

General Motors, the world's largest vehicle manufacturer, and AM General reached an agreement in December 1999 in which GM acquired exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide. The iconic HUMVEE is the original HUMMER, the cornerstone of the brand.

In 2003, HUMMER introduced H2, reflecting an evolution of the brand and making HUMMER more accessible to a wider civilian audience. The HUMMER H2 SUT is an evolution of the H2 which adds even more flexibility for cargo requirements.

The HUMMER H3, a more compact model, arrived to the Middle East in the latter half of 2005 as a 2006 model year.
