Dubai, 15 June 2014

More than 170 students from the Dubai American Academy (DAA) visited Nakheel to discover how Palm Jumeirah and other world-leading, waterfront projects turned from vision to reality and set new standards in innovative engineering.

The primary school children saw a presentation on how Nakheel's flagship projects reshaped the coastline of Dubai and rapidly became some of the most famous landmarks and sought-after destinations in the world, followed by an interactive question and answer session and a close up view of scale models of Nakheel's projects.

A Nakheel spokesman said:  "It is always a delight to share our knowledge and experiences with the young people of Dubai, some of whom, after seeing our work first hand, are inspired to go to pursue a career in engineering, design or construction themselves."

Andy May, one of the teachers at DAA to accompany the students on their trip to Nakheel, added: "It was an honour for our pupils to visit Nakheel to learn some of the history behind these world-famous landmarks.  We thank Nakheel for making us so welcome and for allowing us the chance to go behind the scenes on their waterfront creations."
