
On October 2nd, 2017, His Highness Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to Social Media to announce the launch of Dubais latest city-wide initiative, The Dubai Fitness Challenge.
The crown prince of Dubai, challenged all residents & citizens to take part in the 30-day challenge to make Dubai the healthiest & most athletic city. The announcement took Social Media by storm, both individuals & organizations alike were accepting the challenge & pledging to take part in the 30-day initiative.
From the second the initiative was announced to date (October 19th) there have been over 10,000 mentions of the challenge. Twitter leads the social media conversation with 68% of the mentions, followed by Instagram & Facebook. The number one activity social media users are talking about is running (370+ mentions), followed closely by yoga (330+ mentions).

Employers are taking employee well-being and fitness into account, such as Meltwater who recently launched their own, in house yoga room for their employees
