Sharjah - The upcoming editionof the Middle East Motor Tuning Show has lined up an exciting mix of adrenaline-pumping activities that will set thetempo for the second edition of the region's leading car tuning andcustomization show.
It will be held atExpo Centre Sharjah from May 12 to 14, 2011.
The main attractionat this year's show will be the Monster Energy Drifting Arena, which willshowcase precise balance of steering, accelerating, braking, shifting andpushing the boundaries of what a car is capable of to the limit.
The event will alsooffer enthusiasts an opportunity to meet and greet their drifting heroes, takephotos with them and get their autographs.
"Drifting is notabout being the fastest. It is an exhibition sport where individual runs arejudged on various criteria. We have tied up with Monster Energy for thisadrenaline-pumping activity," said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-Generalof Expo Centre Sharjah.
Another sensationalattraction at the show is going to be the 'Project Falcon' Chevrolet Silverado3500 HD created by Al Ghandi Customs. It is the winner of MBC Action's 'Battle of the Garages',which showcased customisation skills of teams from the region.
"This is one of themost amazing custom trucks I have ever seen in my 33 years in this region -it's as good as anything you'll see at top international shows anywhere in theworld," said James Liddle, Director - After Sales, Al Ghandi Auto. "I'mincredibly proud of our team who literally got carried away by the project,often working through the night on what became a real labour of love for them."
The theme of theFalcon Silverado was the national emblem of the UAE with the amazing paintworkfeaturing hand-painted falcons and images of the Burj Khalifa - and the eye ofthe beret-wearing falcon on the tailgate is actually the reverse camera forparking safety.
The suspension hasbeen raised by seven inches, and additional performance and styling upgrade hasbeen done on the truck. The interior has new leather and suede upholstery, therear bench was thrown out in favour of two individual chairs and everyonewithin gets to revel in the 1500 watt sound system with two 10-inch subwoofers.
"It is difficult tofind words to describe this true work of art and creativity. It is alsodifficult to feel its power and perfectness from a photograph. The only way toget the actual feel of the Falcon Silverado is to come and see it in real atthe show," said Roman Gavrilin, Show Manager.
Another attractionwhich will literally be music to the ears of auto lovers is the return of theCar Audio competition. The contest was launched for the first edition of MEMTSin 2010 and since it got tremendous positive feedback, Expo Centre Sharjah ispresenting it for the second edition of the show too - but a lot more biggerand better this year.
Being assessed onthe basis of EMMA (European Mobile Media Association) rules, internationaljudges will be evaluating the event, which is aimed at supporting car lovers intheir endeavor to get concert-hall sound quality in their vehicles. Winnerswill take home exciting prizes.
For the secondconsecutive time, one of the biggest names in the car audio industry, Pioneer,is sponsoring the contest. "We see keen interest from many people in the UAE foradvanced car audio systems that provide clearer and much higher sound quality,one that will provide concert-hall like feeling. On the other side, there arepeople who would like to play their music loud, but with higher quality. Besides, the resultsof the pre-event activity, Airbrush Contest, will be announced and the winningairbrushed car and design will be unveiled on the first day of MEMTS. MEMTS2011 will also be a comprehensive showcase of the latest trends in carmodification from leading companies across the world. This year, the show will haveseveral dedicated areas for different types of cars and car customization,including the Millionaires' Hall, the Motorsport Hall and the UAE PerformanceZone, the Styling and Accessories Area and the Car Audio section.
The launch editionof the Middle East Motor Tuning Show was held in October 2010 and during itsfive-day run it attracted more than 75,000 visitors.
