Dubai, United Arab Emirates - October 15, 2012: 

The 'First UAE Ideas Conference & Award 2012' which was recently organised by Ideas Emirates Group, emanating from the subgroup Ideas.Arabia of Dubai Quality Group (DQG), received overwhelming response and accolade from various circles of society, government and non-government organisations.

Speaking on the success of DQG for holding such a unique gathering, which was meant to promote national identity and talent, Ms. Feryal Tawakul, Chair of Ideas.Arabia Subgroup, on behalf of the Group, praised the great tangible, influential and productive efforts of the speakers, organizers and participants of the event which was held under the theme 'My Innovation - My Identity,' in the presence of the DQG Chairman and several Emirati influencers, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of the Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Emirates Airline & Group and Honorary Patron of DQG.

Ms. Feryal Tawakul thanked all Emirati leaders, dignitaries and those interested and concerned about the experiments of excellence, innovation and success, whose participation in the event was rich and influential, with hot and pivotal speeches, working papers and topics.

Speakers at the conference included: H.E. Sultan Saqr Al-Suwaidi, Chairman, Culture & Science Symposium, Dr. Saeed Khalfan Al-Dhaheri, Minister Counsellor for Information Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Hamid Al-Marri, Assistant Executive Director for Financial Affairs & Institutional Support, MBRHE, Dhaen Shaheen, Executive Director of Press, DMI and Executive Director & Editor-in-Chief, Al-Bayan Newspaper, Dr. Omar Jaffar, Chairman of Australian International School, Ms. Huda Amer, Head of Arabic School, Australian International School, and Farid Karmostaji, Director of Development Entrepreneurs, Mohammed bin Rashid Foundation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

Tawakul also acknowledged the five winners who received seven awards for their innovations, in addition to the 'Idea of the Year' Award. The winners were the Roads and Transport Authority (2 awards), Al-Watan School of the UAQ Educational Zone, the Directorate General of HR at the Dubai Police HQ, the Department of Education of the Directorate General of HR at the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, in addition to the Dubai Municipality, which claimed the Best Innovation Award in Voluntary Work and the 'Idea of the Year 2012' Award.

Ms. Feryal Tawakul said, "The success of the First UAE Ideas Conference & Award and the characteristics of its theme and topics put us on the right track to continue our efforts towards promoting the culture of excellence and innovation among all concerned parties, especially the Emiratis seeking a strong platform where they can exhibit their quality and creative ideas."

She added, "The participants in the conference have done well in how to address minds at the level of excellence and innovation." She noted that the feedback of the conference showed to a large extent the satisfaction of participants and contributors in development of this quality vision aimed at strengthening identity in the long term, and supporting national competencies through experiences and features that save time and pave way for them to reach more profound and memorable goals.

In his closing address at the conference, Saleh Janeeh, DQG Chairman, thanked all those who made their mark at the national event, valuing significantly the efforts of the DQG and its Ideas.Arabia subgroup for supporting quality and excellence.

Janeeh stressed that DQG and its diverse and specialized groups and subgroups will never stop or hesitate in bringing all aspects of excellence locally, regionally and globally to the forefront, in order to keep the innovation, available in the UAE and in Dubai particularly, which boasts excellence every day.
