Global leader in Information Capture market offers training for industry recognised credentials

DUBAI, 08 August 2004: DICOM FZE, the global leader in the Information Capture market, recently held a CDIA+ (Certified Document Imaging Architect) preparation course for select partners and their enterprise customers from Middle East and Africa. The course, held in Dubai between July 24th and 27th, was conducted by Walter Koch, from Imageware.

Lars Bogvad Jeppesen, Managing Director for DICOM FZE, said, "With businesses in this region turning to electronic document management solutions, it becomes obvious that a certified expert in document imaging can open the door to a vast quantity of business opportunities in electronic commerce. CDIA+ certification is an industry-recognized credential that represents an individual's proficiency in the skills necessary to excel in the document imaging industry."

M. El-Harras, Projects-Data Management Engineer, Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company Limited (ADGAS), UAE, commented, "As the Data Management Engineer, understanding latest technologies in this field in-depth is vital, so we can plan, propose and implement the optimal solutions for our organization. DICOM's CDIA+ preparation course was very good as it explained many Document, Imaging and Records Management aspects. This type of technical course is essential to all personal involved in Data, Document, Imaging and  Information Management fields."

The CompTIA CDIA+ certification covers the fundamentals and procedures required from a proficient imaging solutions provider. The CompTIA CDIA+ exam covers competency in areas established by an assembly of document management experts. The areas of content include subjects like gathering business requirements, analysing business processes, recommending solutions, design solutions, and planning implementation.

"CompTIA, who introduced the CDIA+ certification, pulled from the most brilliant minds in the document-imaging arena for a global perspective of necessary, required elements related to the industry," Jeppesen continued. These document management industry leaders, consisting of systems vendors, distributors, and consulting organizations, created a technical certification that would enhance, as well as support, careers in the document management industry. The CDIA+ certification is intended to raise the standard of the document imaging profession and increase professional credibility for individuals who achieve CompTIA CDIA+ status.

DICOM's CDIA+ preparation course covered all the elements a document management professional might need to apply for and achieve CDIA+ certification. The course not just covered the basics of strategy (organisational and project goals, processes, standards, etc), analysis of business processes, volumes, and environments like platforms, databases, protocols, servers, existing scanners, RM systems, and integration requirements.

Sami A.K Abu-Shawareb, PS-Image Project Manager, ProgressSoft Corporation, Jordan, was impressed with the expertise of the speaker and the depth of the course. "After attending this course, I strongly believe that all document management professionals must get the (CDIA+) certificate to be recognized internationally. ProgressSoft is always looking ahead and believes that a professional skilled employee is essential for the progress, performance and image of the company."

Amin Harb, Sales Manager for ISB - Integrated Solutions for Business, Saudi Arabia, has been involved in some of the company's successful projects around the Kingdom. "We gained a lot of useful information that will help us to pass the CDIA+ exam successfully," he said. "Walter Koch was very knowledgeable and experienced in the field of document management and transferred a lot of his experience and practices in this field to all of the attendees. And as an Imaging professional, and more importantly as someone who consults and recommends imaging solutions for business applications, it was very important to attend such a training to gain a competitive edge over our competition. ISB always encourages its employees to increase their qualifications with the up to date technology."

The course also helped delegates to develop and design their own document management solutions right for their businesses.

"The course was very useful and I gained a lot of valuable information (from the expert instructor, course material and interaction with other document management professionals) in the document Imagining Architecture that would help me in the analysis and project management fields and CDIA test," said Lina Kablaoui, Head of System Analysis Department, EBLA Computer Consultancy, Kuwait. "My company always recommends that our employees attend useful courses or seminars that would help increase the efficiency of our business."

"As global market leaders in document capture we consider such trainings in this region as a part of our commitment to this industry," said Blessy Varghese, Sales Manager, DICOM FZE.

Based on the positive response from the delegates, DICOM FZE plans to conduct similar training sessions on a more regular basis in future.
