Global certification recognises DHL Express' commitment to IT service quality and customer service in the UAE
Dubai, 24 July, 2012: DHL, the world's leading logistics company, was presented with the ISO 20000 certification for outstanding commitment to IT service quality, making DHL Express UAE the first logistics provider in the Middle East to receive the globally recognized accreditation.
First developed in 2005, ISC 20000 is the first international standard for IT service management. It brings qualifying companies many benefits and advantages, including providing a benchmark for best practice, engendering a fundamental shift to pro-active processes and creating competitive advantage. It also encourages the alignment of IT services and business strategy.
Receiving ISO 20000 is a significant achievement and follows the implementation of new business requirements, customer projects and change management processes, and is a reflection of DHL Express UAE's ongoing commitment to its customers by ensuring every level of the business is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.
To celebrate the landmark achievement, Frank-Uwe Ungerer, Country Manager for DHL Express UAE, was presented with the much-coveted certificate by Brian Baxter, UAE Service Delivery Manage at Lloyds, who are responsible for conducting the rigorous auditing process required to achieve ISO 20000 status.
"Achieving the ISO 20000 certification is a remarkable step we've taken together as a company to differentiate ourselves within the logistics sector - this achievement is a formal mechanism for reviewing our services and provides our customers with the opportunity to measure our commitment," said Frank-Uwe Ungerer, Country Manager for DHL Express in the UAE.
"The ISO qualification audit is a rigorous process that implements stringent principles which ensures we benchmark ourselves against high-standards to guarantee our IT service quality is always best for our customers," added Ungerer.
Brian Baxter, LRQA's UAE Service Delivery manager said: "the stringent requirements set up to achieve ISO 20000 certification marks a company's commitment to quality and DHL has excelled by developing a solid infrastructure to provide excellent service. After the initial certification, we will continue intermittent assessments every 6 to 12 months, and with the commitment already demonstrated, we are sure they will continue to succeed".
