Over 230 partners from Deloitte gathered in Dubai in early November 2019 for the Middle East’s regional annual partners meeting. The meeting’s theme was “Disrupt the norm” and focused on new pervasive trends such as digital, cloud, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) affecting the business environment. Senior partners from the global Deloitte network, including Sharon Thorne, Global Board Chair, David Sproul, Global Deputy CEO, and Richard Houston, CEO, Deloitte North and South Europe also attended the event.

HRH Princess Dr. Maha Bint Mishari Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, VP of External Relations & Advancement at Alfaisal University, guest speaker in the meeting said, “As Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 approaches, the Kingdom is undergoing significant change and transformation in all sectors including health, education, infrastructure, recreation and tourism. Employment opportunities for youth and women in the workforce are key to our vision.”

“Through our global programs such as WorldClass, UNLEASH, and our continuing focus on inclusivity and corporate responsibility and sustainability, we are able to showcase that the  benefits of these crucial characteristics of our culture can extend beyond the four walls of any single corporation,” says Sharon Thorne, Deloitte Global Board Chair. “I’m delighted to see that the Middle East firm is working toward advancing diversity and inclusion across all functions of the organization, as well as creating new opportunities for young talent to excel in the fields of their choice.”

This year’s Middle East regional annual partner’s meeting included a series of concurrent sessions on hot topics including digital, corporate responsibility and sustainability, and client labs.

“In this past fiscal year, Deloitte increased its workforce by 9 percent, to approximately 312,000 professionals. Growth occurred across all regions, with more than 90,000 professionals hired, of whom 1,200 in the Middle East. In order to continue to serve our clients and to provide the best professional services, we have promoted over 60 new partners, directors and principals. They bring with them a diverse range of skills and industry-wide expertise to support our clients to seamlessly navigate the disruptions and transformations shaping business and society today,” said Omar Fahoum, CEO, Deloitte Middle East.

Richard Houston, Senior Partner and CEO of Deloitte North and South Europe, and who attended the conference, said: “Deloitte’s global network brings with it a depth and breadth of skills and industry knowledge that is unrivalled. This network ensures we are well placed to anticipate and respond to the changes and disruption facing our clients on a daily basis.”

Mutasem Dajani, CEO-elect, Deloitte Middle East, said: “Deloitte’s strategy and multidisciplinary business model continued to drive success in the region in FY2019. All five business areas—Audit & Assurance, Consulting, Financial Advisory, Risk Advisory, and Tax & Legal grew during this time. The opening of the Deloitte Digital Center, launched in Riyadh, is an exciting milestone for Deloitte and confirms  our commitment to the region by enabling the delivery of end-to-end innovative digital solutions at scale – from strategy and design through to implementation.”
