With AGEIA PhysX Mobile Technology™ - A World First in Notebooks, THE BEAST IS HERE!

Dubai, UAE, 4 October 2007 - - PC gaming leader Dell today unleashed the XPS M1730 notebook, aka "the beast," for gamers who want to experience the peak of mobile performance.

The M1730 is literally taking the gaming experience to the next level.  This gaming monster is the world's first notebook to incorporate AGEIA PhysX Mobile Technology in the form of the AGEIA PhysX 100M™ processor and Logitech's GamePanel LCD. The PhysX™ processor delivers realistic movement and environmental interaction at incredible speeds without degrading overall performance, while the GamePanel LCD allows gamers to view game stats, create new macros and keep track of important system information without leaving the game.

"Dell is committed to the creation of PCs that will take hard-core gamers to new frontiers," said Michael Collins, General Manager - Dell Middle East. "The XPS M1730 engineering team worked with developers on leading titles such as such as The Orange Box from Valve's Half Life 2 and 2K Games' BioShock to ensure this notebook can deliver the full-throttle power required for the most anticipated PC games."

Unprecedented performance and connectivity

The high-octane XPS M1730 delivers extreme mobile gaming performance, supporting the overclocking[1] of Intel® Extreme Edition Core™ 2 Duo processor to Bin +2 (up to 3.2GHz) and featuring NVIDIA® SLI® technology with support for DirectX 10 graphics. The high spec interior is coupled with an aggressive, bold design that can be personalised with four colour accent choices: Crimson Red, Sapphire Blue, Bone White, and Smoke Grey.  The Dell engineered chassis will also be able to handle the thermal and power requirements of the most powerful next-generation graphics solutions. This combination of high performance and slick design make 'the beast' top of any gamer's wish list.

For fans of online gaming, the XPS M1730 is the most "connected" gaming notebook available. It features optional built-in mobile broadband connectivity with Vodafone in the UK, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands and Spain and SFR in France and TeliaSonera in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway as well as Wi-Fi technology choices topped out by optional Wireless-N. Systems also include a built-in 2.0 MegaPixel Web camera and digital array microphone for gamers to clearly see and flame the competition.

Groundbreaking games for cutting-edge technology

"The seamless integration of PhysX into this innovative new product clearly raises the bar in mobile PC gaming," said Manju Hegde, CEO of AGEIA.  "Exciting new PhysX-powered games such as Tom Clancy's GRAW2 from Ubisoft, NetDevil's Warmonger and Midway and Epic Games' upcoming Unreal Tournament 3 are a perfect match for the XPS 1730."

Other attractive features include a backlit keyboard with separate 10-key number pad, a high-definition display with a lightning fast  response time of seven[2] milliseconds, and support for Dell's LightFX application, allowing users and developers to manipulate the system's multi-colored perimeter lighting LEDs.

The XPS experience does not stop there.  All XPS desktops and notebooks now feature Premium XPS Support, which includes quick access to the best technicians Dell offers for home computers. These techs must pass rigorous training to become a member of the dedicated XPS support team, and calls are typically answered in less than two minutes, often more quickly. Premium XPS Support also means Gaming support for the most popular games and On-site assistance next working day if needed. The dedicated XPS support can be reached 24x7 through phone, chat or online.
