Dr Payyazhi Jayashree, Principal Investigator behind the study leads panel discussion
Dubai, UAE, 03 February 2016 - The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), the official representative organization for business women, both professionals and entrepreneurs, in the Emirate of Dubai, today hosted the fourth event in the seminar series launched in collaboration with the University of Wallongong Dubai (UOWD). The panel discussion on womens roles in international companies was lead by Dr Payyazhi Jayashree, Principal Investigator behind the study (and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business).
Joining the discussion was Nehad Tadros, Global Head of Coaching and Leadership Development, Aramex and Simran Kaur, Head of Marketing: Gulf, North Middle East and Turkey, Philips Healthcare.
The collaboration was launched in 2015, through a grant from the National Research Foundation as part of the University-Industry Research Collaboration Award a Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research initiative that helps to promote university-industry research collaboration projects which establish the agenda for longer-term partnerships in the UAE.
Our objective with this campaign is aimed at encouraging women in the UAE to discuss and explore the factors associated with females attaining, and succeeding in, leadership positions in the UAE, said HE Dr. Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, President of DBWC. Through partnerships like these we are enabled to generate case studies and valuable insights into real matters influencing women in the workplace today which will later become valuable literature for further studies.
The next session in the collaboration will mark International Womens Day and will take place at DBWC on 7 March 2016.
