Dubai, August 8, 2004 - Raffle tickets for the Dubai Summer Surprises BMW Grand Summer Raffle Draw are going fast, as people take notice of the last few weeks of DSS 2004 and with it the dwindling chances to win the Dhs. 450,000-mega prize.

In every Grand Summer Raffle Draw, one winner walks away with a BMW X3, a BMW 520i and Dh. 100,000 in cash, bringing the total value of the prize money to Dh450,000. The raffle is being organised by the DSS Office, in association with Arabian Gulf Mechanical Centre (AGMC), the exclusive importer of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce in Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates, and Emarat. A new draw is held for every 5,000 tickets.

"I've decided to enter the 6th draw with two tickets," said Arshad Zaheed, an Indian residing in Dubai. "One is carrying my name, the other is carrying my wife's name."

If he wins, Zaheed said, he will use the jackpot money for his children's education.

Zaheed is not the only one with big plans for the Dhs. 450,000 prize. George Khoori from Syria echoed her sentiment. "I make sure to participate in every draw of the Grand Summer Raffle and I buy several tickets where I write down my family members' names on the tickets," Khoori said. "I really wish to win the two BMW cars and the Dhs. 100,000. If I win the prize, I will keep one car and I will sell the other as I really like the BMW brand."

Dalila Al Rawahi, from the Sultanate of Oman, is equally optimistic. "Luck might knock your door if you might buy even one ticket," she said. "I have decided to participate in the 6th draw by one ticket only and who knows I might win the Grand Prize."

"I am really delighted with the idea of the Grand Summer Raffle," Al Rawahi added. "It gives everyone the chance to try their luck and it also give them hope to win the grand prize which will surely change their lives."

Palestinian engineer Samir Suaihel is also trying his luck by buying a ticket. He said he had meant to buy a ticket earlier in the 10-week shopping extravaganza, but finally decided to pick one up because time is running out.

The Grand Summer Raffle coupons are also available at 33 Emarat stations in Dubai, including Al Khubaisi, Hor Al Anz, Kuwait, Al Awir, Nad Al Hamar, Beach, Jebel Ali, Naharwan, Dana, Al Wejdan, Al Muhaisna, Taqniya, Muteena, Al Bustan, Al Madares, Galadari, Atrium/C-Store, Abu Khadra, Bridge, Karama, Al Wasl, Bin Hendi, Dubai Internet City, Al Rajhan, Al Raed, Garhoud, Safa Park, Lamtara, Chicago Beach, Al Dhiyafa, Al Adhed, Al Hassa, Umm Suqueim, and Jatabiyah (Ras Al Khor).
