KAEC : King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG) signed a framework agreement that will pave the way for future healthcare sector cooperation between the two parties. The new partnership comes as part of KAEC’s efforts to engage the Saudi private sector and further develop and unlock its potential as an emerging destination and a vision-ready platform for business, tourism, and living, all while enhancing the city’s quality of life.

Mr. Cyril Piaia, CEO of Emaar the Economic City (EEC), the master developer of KAEC, signed the agreement with Eng. Abdullah Al-Sudais, CEO of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Centers, a subsidiary of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group, at Bay La Sun Business Park in the city on 20 March 2023. Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib’s Acting President and CEO Mr.  Faisal Al Nassar, Chief of Business Development and Strategy Mr.  Hesham Al Habib, and Executive Director of Business Development Dr. Mohammed AlAshkar were also present at the signing ceremony alongside EEC’s Head of Commerical Business Development, Kamal AlBorno, and Acting Chief of Assets, Mohammed ElKhatib.

As a strategic partner, Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group will play a vital role in the development of a comprehensive healthcare system to promote high-tech preventive, primary, and secondary care in KAEC. Under the terms of the framework agreement, the group will establish a state-of-the-art medical center to provide world-class and integrated healthcare services for the city’s residents and visitors. This will ultimately contribute to greater well-being for all throughout KAEC, in line with international best practices. Furthermore, the facility will offer outpatient clinics supported by emergency medical care, radiology, and laboratory services.

The new medical center will also serve as the foundation for the development of a tertiary care hospital in KAEC, which will continue to collaborate with Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group. This will ensure that all necessary healthcare services are available as the city’s population continues to grow. EEC will develop a strategic steering committee to engage the medical group as well as develop and regularly review and assess KAEC’s overall healthcare strategy.
