Muscat -  The Sultanate's largest IT, telecom and technology event - COMEX 2010 is set to  organise a CIO forum which will highlight the top ten ICT challenges, issues on security and virtualisation trends.

Marking its 20th year, the COMEX CIO forum will provide top-level ICT professionals from both private and government sectors with greater opportunity to network, exchange knowledge and debate on various challenges facing the ICT industry.   

Talal Al Rahbi, Chief of Information and Awareness at the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and chairman of the COMEX Advisory Committee said "COMEX 2010 CIO forum is a result of the industry's greater impetus to move the Sultanate's ICT sector forward.

"This platform will not only provide the best networking opportunity amongst the industry players but is also the right venue for ICT professionals to share expertise and knowledge on the current ICT challenges, issues on security and trends on virtualisation, right strategies, tools and solutions to improve organizations' performance and create significant value.

The CIO forum will be held on April 28, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Golden Tulip Hotel, following the COMEX Conference scheduled on April 27.

The COMEX 2010 Conference, to be organised under the theme, "Creating Synergy and Driving Development Through Collaboration and Application" is aimed at providing thought provoking topics, promoting understanding about the latest technology trends and their impact on organisations and providing information on how ICT can empower citizens and revolutionize the economic development of the country.
