Dubai - CO-OP ISLAMI, the region's leading producer and retailer of real halal products announced that it will implement a new and innovative distribution concept through its agreement with UNIKAI, one of foremost distribution companies in the country.
The agreement enables CO-OP ISLAMI to leverage UNIKAI's strong client relationship and distribution channels to reach out to new segments in the market. It is also in accordance with CO-OP ISLAMI's mission to maximise the use of information in its move towards a knowledge-based economy.
The agreement was signed by Saleh Abdulla Lootah, Chief Executive Officer CO-OP ISLAMI and Sajjad Ahmad, Managing Director, UNIKAI in the presence of directors and senior managers from both companies.
"This agreement represents a significant milestone in CO-OP ISALMI's distribution strategy," said Saleh Abdulla Lootah, "as it enables us to implement an professional knowledge-based distribution methodology, that is both cost effective and time efficient. Such an investment will have a positive impact on the operational costs while at the same time increasing CO-OP ISLAMI's reach to a larger segment in the market."

This agreement enhances CO-OP ISLAMI's presence in the local market through depending on various distribution channels owned by UNIKAI, which contributes to the development of the company's performance that aims at satisfying consumer needs.
Mr. Ahmed said: "Unikai, considered one of the leading distribution companies in the country, has a fleet of more than 200 vehicles that distribute food products around the clock across the UAE. The company has more than 2000 employees and this is a significant indicator to the size of operations conducted by the company and its leading position in the local market."

Establishing CO-OP ISLAMI came into being as a result of long relentless efforts commenced in the early seventies when Hajj Saeed Bin Ahmad Lootah instituted Dubai Cooperative Society. Since it was initially launched, Dubai Cooperative Society was immersed in hard works to establish the principles of commercial dealings.
