The Cisco Academy at the American University of Sharjah held its fifth graduation ceremony on Wednesday May 18, 2005. Eighteen students completed the CCNA and Fundamentals of Network Security training courses during this academic year. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sallie Sheppard, Interim Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs; Dr. Leland Blank, Dean of the School of Engineering; Dr. Mohamed El-Tarhuni, Director of the Academy; as well as students, faculty and staff members.
The Cisco Academy Program is a globally recognized e-learning program that teaches students how to design, implement, and maintain computer networks using industry-standard equipment. It prepares students for the CCNA certification that is widely sought by IT professionals. The AUS Cisco Academy was established in 2001.Thus far about 75 students have completed the certification training.
