April 27, 2014, DUBAI: The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) will hold their regional annual conference and prestigious awards ceremony at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel on 12th May.

The Middle East is a territory heavily reliant on foreign imports and one that is keen to embrace greener and more sustainable business growth and ways of living. The theme of this year's conference is building global, robust, sustainable supply chains in the GCC and Middle East which are essential to support the growth in infrastructure to sustain events such as EXPO 2020 and the FIFA World Cup.

The conference will hear from local and global speakers such as Abdulla N. Al-Naemi, Procurement Director at Qatar Foundation, David Noble, CIPS Group CEO and Tim Williams, CPO, MTN. Dr. Tommy Weir, a renowned expert in leadership in the emerging markets and author of 10 Tips for Leading in the Middle East said, "A vision should focus on the future, be different from the past and should be repeatable and sustainable," and will also be appearing at the conference.

In the evening CIPS will host its third annual awards ceremony. Previous winners of the highest independent accolade for the procurement and supply profession in the region include Qatar Petroleum, EQUATE, WorleyParsons, Etihad Airways, Emirates National Oil Company and BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.
