Abu Dhabi, May 25 2008-We may not all be born geniuses, but there is a lot that can be done by sheer hard work, constant self-evaluation and a willingness to learn says former world chess champion Gary Kasparov, who is one of four prominent speakers to head the strategic leadership convention, Leaders in Abu Dhabi, taking place today.

Held at Emirates Palace Hotel, Kasparov will be joined on the podium by management guru Marcus Buckingham; YO! Sushi Founder Simon Woodroffe and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander General Wesley Clark.

Set to deliver a unique perspective on expert methods of leadership for 21st century businesses, Kasparov's statements and hypothesis claim the attention of many enthusiastic entrepreneurs in today's business world - his dynamics are sharp, concise and motivational.

"There's a massive amount of uncertainty and almost boundless variety in terms of the moves you can make in both chess and business," says Kasparov. "We have to push ourselves, create our own criteria and raise them all the time."

Leaders in Abu Dhabi is characterised as more then a conference with Kasparov presenting his skills and experience of chess orientated strategy, using this in a business sense, approaching strategic business in an unconventional way.

Kasparov highlights the three main principles of chess - mental concentration, understanding the environment and the competition, making the right decisions - and the way in which they are applied to business leadership.

"We are looking forward to Kasparov's speech," says Leaders Presents Divisional Director Alan Kelly. "His ability to relate his strategic chess skills to business gives people a deep insight into what is really needed to make a business work."

Kasparov conforms to the main objective of the Abu Dhabi event - to show senior executives the skills necessary to lead their executive teams in a fair concise manner and to mentor their employees, enabling them to develop their highest potential.

"Kasparov's principles and business ideals are fresh and inspiring," says Kelly. "We know that his methods are mass appealing as he is combining the principles of sport with business."

"Leaders in Abu Dhabi is a business forum focusing on back to basics pure leadership. This is about developing future leaders in the region and inspiring people to be the best that they can be."

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Economy and Planning have lent their full support to the event. Leaders in Abu Dhabi is sponsored by Etisalat, Citi Private Bank and Omniyat Properties and Panasonic. Media partners include CNN, Al Arabiya, AMG, ITP, Oman Economic Review and The Times.
