Provides complete and integrated management solution through long-standing partnership
Dateline - Computer Associates, one of the world's leading independent management software companies, today announced that McLaren Racing, a user of Unicenter Network and Systems Management (Unicenter NSM), has completed its CA management portfolio by selecting CA's BrightStor Storage Resource Manager (BrightStor SRM), BrightStor High Availability, eTrust Security Command Center (eTrust SCC) and CleverPath.
CA has been a long-standing technology partner of McLaren. When looking for a management solution, McLaren consulted with CA as both their trusted advisor and preferred technology vendor. McLaren has implemented an integrated solution to manage, secure, and validate all aspects of the onsite Garage and main Operation Center.
"By working closely with CA, we are able to identify and integrate new uses of the software to improve our handling of data, which has a direct impact on how well we can design, build and race our cars. We are a zero fault tolerance organization -- on a race weekend it is not conceivable that IT would let us down. CA is helping us build the systems to ensure this doesn't happen," said Jonathan Neale, managing director of McLaren Racing.
In addition to the onsite operation center, there is a larger central operations center located at the McLaren Technology Centre. Live data is transmitted to headquarters so that more complex analysis and computing can be performed.
Bjare Rasmussen, VP of technology services for CA Arab World said: "McLaren Racing is not only a leader in racing but also in the usage of technology to drive its business. CA provides McLaren with integrated enterprise management, storage management, security management and knowledge management solutions that enable them to achieve both performance and technology differentiation from their competitors which equates to success on the race track."
"The breadth and completeness of the CA solution has given us the ability to find new ways to achieve great performance on the race track." concluded Neale.
