ADC Completely Renovates Homes for Underprivileged Families
Aqaba, October 29, 2008: The Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) completely renovated three homes for underprivileged families in the Old Town and Salah Al Din neighborhood in Aqaba. H.E Eng. Husni Abu Gheida, Chief Commissioner of ASEZA presented the families with the keys to their newly renovated homes.
ADC continues to build on Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah's directives after her visit to Aqaba's Old Town last April, where she also visited an underprivileged family that suffers from harsh living conditions, poverty and severe health problems.
ADC rid all three homes of any unsanitary and unhealthy conditions and also improved on the infrastructure of the buildings to help improve the families' health and standard of living.
Her Majesty requested studies to be conducted on the current situation of underprivileged families in the Old Town to provide them with the suitable living conditions they deserve. Falling in line with Her Majesty's directives, ADC underwent complete maintenance and renovation on the adopted houses after conducting thorough studies to address their needs.
ADC's CEO, Eng Imad Fakhoury highlighted that this initiative builds on Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah's visit to the Old Town. He added that ADC's efforts come as part of the company's responsibility towards the local community to help enhance the standards of living for severely underprivileged and needy families who are not eligible to benefit from the available housing projects.
ADC revamped all three homes by implementing modern infrastructure networks to replace the old ones; building and painting walls; reconstructing, painting and tiling sanitary facilities; renovating walls and ceilings; installing a new and safe electricity network and eliminating ventilation and lighting problems by setting up new and modern methods.
