Doha, Qatar: BP Alaska well expert Joe Anders delivered a lecture on 'Well Integrity & Well Failure" to second, third and fourth year Petroleum Engineering students at Texas A&M University at Qatar in Doha on March 17th. The BP lecture is part of the company's long-established commitment to education and fostering the employees and leaders of tomorrow.  Student lectures give BP the chance share valuable real-life experiences and to inspire young people to an important, exciting and rewarding career in oil and gas.

The visit by one of BP's leading Well Project Engineers is part of the company's commitment to migrate knowledge from its international operations to the Middle East through information sharing and transferring technical expertise.  Anders informed the students about BP's success with Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques that are significantly increasing the yield from BP's oil and gas fields around the world.  BP's Prudhoe Bay field in Alaska which, given it's characteristics, would normally yield a 'standard' recovery of less than 40%, of in-place reserves, is set for a recovery rate of around 65% thanks to the deployment of EOR technology.
