The Bosch range of fail-safe equipments minimizes risk of accidents and ensures smooth performance

January 3, 2006

The latest car safety equipments from Bosch, the premier manufacturer of automotive spare parts and accessories, are finding increasing acceptance among car owners in the UAE and the larger Middle East, on account of their reliability, high performance and durability.

Bosch's high-quality spare parts and components are widely acknowledged to be the safest and most efficient in the world. Car owners gain significant advantages by adopting the Bosch range of spare parts, as these fail-safe equipments minimize risk of accidents and ensure smooth performance.

"Bosch's state-of-the-art spare parts and accessories are designed to offer optimal reliability and performance. Besides ensuring against any breakdown or failure, these equipments contribute significantly towards the lifespan of a vehicle," said Oleg Riabtsev, General Manager, Middle East Operation, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket (Bosch AA). "Reliability of vital car components such as brake systems is integral to passenger safety. By fitting their cars with high-quality Bosch components, vehicle owners virtually guard against accidents and wear and tear that otherwise could occur due to inferior quality spare parts."

Recent studies have shown that casualty and fatality rates in the UAE and other Gulf countries are much higher than in developing countries with comparable vehicle ownership levels. In the UAE, for instance, 873 people were killed and thousands injured in a total of 8,650 accidents in 2004. Statistics from the Oman Royal Police have revealed that almost 10 per cent of the country's annual deaths are caused by traffic accidents and, on an average, 50 people die every month on Omani roads. The scenario is not much different in Bahrain, where over 200 people get killed and about 10,000 seriously injured in traffic accidents every year.

"The accident rate in the Middle East is alarmingly high, despite sustained efforts by regional governments and traffic bodies to bring down the number of road accidents by means of awareness campaigns and other measures. While irresponsible driving, lack of lane discipline and externally-induced factors account for several of the accidents, an equal number of mishaps are caused by the substandard safety equipments many cars are fitted with," Riabtsev added.

Bosch offers a full range of high-quality spare parts and components, including drive belts, brake systems, batteries, filters, spark plugs, glow plugs, sensors, windscreen wipers, ignition systems, horns and headlights. Bosch's top-class drive belts offers high-resistance to friction and temperature changes, making them the best in the market. The Bosch range of filters is designed to prevent harmful substance from entering or being induced, whereas their lambda sensors offer enormous fuel consumption savings.

The Robert Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Middle East regional office has been in the region for over 40 years and was established to support Bosch partners and customers in the Middle East. Bosch AA outfits new vehicles with individually matched components and systems, and provides a comprehensive range of more than 150,000 Original Equipment (OE) quality spare parts.
