Dubai, September 17, 2007: German household appliance giant Bosch is getting into the spirit of Ramadan with the launch of a promotion in aid of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian Charity.
During the Holy Month every customer buying a Bosch appliance in the UAE will receive a teddy bear gift, with the value of each toy also donated to the charity.
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Foundation provides wide ranging and flexible aid in order to develop opportunities for worthy causes throughout the UAE.
The promotion, which runs until at least the final day of Ramadan, is a first time for Bosch in the Middle East. The social responsibility of Bosch was one of the principles of founder Robert Bosch, who established a foundation in 1964 to develop and support worthwhile causes.
Bosch's marketing manager, Ralph Kobsik, said: "We are proud to support this important charity, which provides for local and non local people throughout the UAE. This is a way for us to communicate our commitment to the country and underline important social values, which is the basis of Bosch's philosophy. At the same time we will hopefully make a difference by raising some serious funds for this extremely worthwhile charity."
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian Charity acting director, Saleh Zaher Saleh, said: "We would like to thank Bosch for choosing us as the charity to benefit from this promotion and helping us put even more smiles on the faces of those that need it most. We rely upon companies such as Bosch to continue such donations in order for us to continue the important work we do for the UAE's needy."
Bosch's Middle East headquarters has been based in Dubai for a decade and has established a strong presence and reputation in the region due to its high performing and reliable products, including washing machines, refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers.
The Middle East is the fastest growing region in the worldwide Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte network. Employing 35 within its Dubai office and 15 more throughout the Middle East region, BSH is one of the few international domestic appliances manufacturers to have its regional headquarters in the Middle East.
The bears are valued at around AED 25.
Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH facilitates household chores with a wide spectrum of reliable and durable products. This strong focus on usage and close identification with the consumer has made Bosch one of the main innovators within the domestic appliances category worldwide. Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH has maintained its role as market leader in Europe for many years.
In order to assure that Bosch can continue to respond to customer needs with pioneering products (fully automatic dishwashers, light wave ovens, refrigerators with AntiBacteria finish or the wall-mounted LiftMatic oven); it promotes projects involving the development of innovative technologies. In doing so, the company always observes the principles of quality, technical competence, quality of life and responsibility towards mankind and the environment.
Bosch is part of BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, in which Bosch and Siemens each hold a 50 per cent share. BSH is a globally active corporate group and market leader in Germany and Europe. It ranks as one of the three leading domestic appliance manufacturers worldwide. The portfolio includes the main brands Bosch and Siemens, specialist brands like Gaggenau, Neff and Ufesa, as well as eight other regional brands.
BSH has an extensive worldwide network of distribution and after sales companies as well as a development and manufacturing group, which includes 42 factories and over 35,500 employees in 40 countries.
