"Small is Beautiful" with New Digital Cameras at Middle East's Leading Technology Exhibition
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - BenQ will be expanding its range of digital cameras at the region's premier technology exhibition, GITEX 2005, at the same time as the company "shrinks" its cameras.
The digital lifestyle leader's miniaturization technology is enabling it to offer consumers in the Middle East high-quality digital photography in a camera package small enough to fit inside a pocket.
BenQ's four new launches include affordable fun cameras, ideal for young people looking to capture party images, and high-end cameras suitable for serious photographers. New models DC E510, DC E520, DC C420 and DC C520 will offer users of all abilities the chance to practice digital photography to its fullest extent.
"Digital camera technology is improving all the time, and BenQ's unique contribution to this market is our sense of style and design excellence," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East.
"BenQ's miniaturization technology enables us to provide advanced imaging technology is an easily-carried format, so that small really is beautiful at GITEX 2005," added Dung.
The DC E510 is a digital camera that provides both quality and fun in one package. It features a 5 megapixel CCD sensor, Pentax Lens, 3x optical zoom, and a large 2" LTPS touch screen.
BenQ has pioneered a new "tap to enlarge" function, which allows users to easily zoom in on specific parts of the photo providing a clearer view with a simple tap of the finger. This allows users to check specific details before uploading them to a computer and viewing it on a monitor.
Powered by BenQ miniaturization technology, the BenQ DC E520 is only 21mm thick, making it one of the slimmest cameras on the market and convenient to carry. Aimed at young professionals, the feature-packed digital camera incorporates a 5 mega pixel CCD, Pentax Lens, 3x optical zoom, high-resolution, large-oversized 2.5" LTPS LCD screen, VGA movie recording and extra long battery life.
The BenQ DC C420 provides a crystal clear view because of LTPS, 130k high resolution and a 1.8" large display, combined with a friendly interface with intuitive graphic icons for easy operation. It is ultra compact with only 27mm thickness and users can directly print out photos via the printer without connecting to the computer first.
The BenQ DC C520 is also only 27mm and therefore fits conveniently into your pocket. It can be operated easily by one hand & offers perfect pictures with its 5 mega-pixel CCD. It has a crystal clear view because of LTPS for better color delicacy, 130k high resolution and a 2.0" large display. The interface is user friendly and it is easy to operate thanks to the intuitive graphic icons.
Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East said: "The digital camera market is highly competitive and with sales increasing at a global rate of 60 percent per year, BenQ provides something for everyone."
