Announcement of B.A.R.W.A. Club to facilitate a solid infrastructure for knowledge transfer
Doha, Qatar - 24 February 2009: BARWA Real Estate, one of the premier organizations in the State of Qatar, has participated in Qatar University Career Day to translate the company's commitment to the long term success of Qatar. This commitment was represented by designing two professional training and development (T&D) programs addressed to Qatari nationals and announcing the launch of B.A.R.W.A. Club. The programs, Academic Sponsorship Program (ASP) and Internship Training Program (ITP), offer university students the opportunity to reinforce and continue their learning in different skill areas. On the other hand, B.A.R.W.A. Club focuses on facilitating the transfer of knowledge between industry experts and university students.
BARWA's T&D programs will award selected applicants who successfully complete the ASP & ITP programs; and demonstrate the desired professional, management, business and personal abilities; a certificate of attendance and an opportunity for a permanent career with BARWA and/or its subsidiaries.
The acceptance criteria for both programs include that applicants should be Qatari nationals and pass the personal interview. For ASP, applicants, attending the graduation year, should have a minimum 3.5 GPA and be enrolled in the fields of Information Technology, Engineering, Law, Marketing and Public Relations, Management and Economy. On the other hand, ITP applicants should have a minimum 3.0 GPA with the aim to complete credits required for graduation.
BARWA's T&D manager, Mr. Ghanim Jaber Alkubaisi, explained the objectives of the company's participation by offering Qatari university students the opportunity to develop their skills in a professional working environment. BARWA hopes to achieve better outcomes for the future of Qatar through facilitating knowledge transfer to educated youth via practical and applicable means.
BARWA ASP and ITP were first unveiled at Qatar University Career Day, whichtook place on campus on February24 and 25, 2009.
Mr. Alkubaisi concluded that the future requires from the private sector to consider Qatari graduate recruitment as part of an overall strategic long term plan. Selected national workforce will enjoy the benefits and career opportunities that arise from working with one the country's leading employers, BARWA.
B.A.R.W.A. Club, on the other hand, represents university students with the opportunity of "Building Advanced Rewarding Working Atmosphere" . Club members, Qataris and expatriates, will have the chance to have direct involvement in diverse businesses within the real estate industry; through taking part in "Creating a better environment for life". The Club also offers a solid information flow between industry experts and university students to facilitate knowledge transfer via several communication mediums. Members will be listed on BARWA's "NEWS CLUB", receive invitations for events and activities sponsored by BARWA, get advisory support for final university projects and have the priority for attending BARWA's Training & Development Programs, after assessment & management approval.

About ASP and ITP
When it comes to workplace learning, school is never out for the pro. That's why BARWA designed two exclusive development programs, ASP (Academic Sponsorship Program) and ITP (Internship Training Program). Applicants who successfully complete the BARWA ASP & ITP programs and demonstrate the desired professional, management, business and personal abilities will be awarded a certificate of attendance and an opportunity for a permanent career with BARWA or its subsidiaries.
Acceptance criteria
1. Qatari Nationals only
2. For ASP program, applicants, with minimum 3.5 GPA, should be enrolled in one of the following fields (Information Technology, Engineering, Law, Media and Public Relations, Management and Economy) and attending the graduation year
3. For ITP program, applicants, with minimum 3.0 GPA, must aim to complete credits required for graduation.
