UAE:– Leading international law firm Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla has enhanced its industry offering in the region, with the appointment of Kellie Blyth as Counsel to its Information Technology & Communications (IT/C) practice in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Kellie Blyth joins from Clyde & Co in the UAE, where she was a senior associate specialising in technology, privacy, regulatory and e-commerce matters. Admitted as a Solicitor in Scotland in 2008 and registered as a member of the UK Society of Computers and Law, Kellie has been based in the UAE for over six years, advising local and multinational clients in the technology, telecoms, financial services, insurance and automotive sectors in particular.

Kellie advises on strategic IT projects, as well as supporting clients on how to develop, commercialise and implement digital and technology solutions whilst managing legal and regulatory risk. She regularly advises on the implementation of emerging technologies, data management and protection, and mitigation and response to associated cybersecurity risks.  Kellie's clients feature some of the world's best known and most innovative technology companies with investments and operations in the UAE and broader GCC region.

"The UAE is quickly evolving to be a world-leading hub for technology, supporting the drive for digital innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, which are transforming traditional industries." said Dr. Habib Al Mulla, Executive Chairman of Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla in the UAE. "Kellie Blyth is a great addition to Baker McKenzie's globally renowned Information Technology & Communications practice, and her commercial industry-focused approach will greatly benefit our clients across all sectors. We are delighted to welcome Kellie to the Firm."

Kellie's appointment underlines Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla's continuous growth in the UAE and strengthens its unique platform of local and international expertise, in English and Arabic, in the region.
