Wins industry award for 'Best Facebook Page' in recognition of International Social Media Day

Manama, Bahrain, 15 July 2012 - Bahrain City Centre took home top honours for 'Best Facebook Page' in Bahrain at the recent Social Media Day Awards 2012. Held on June 30th to recognise International Social Media Day, the event was hosted by the local Bahraini Chapter of Social Media Club, a global association whose aim is to connect, communicate and transform the way professionals use media. This award demonstrates Bahrain City Centre's pioneering position as a leader in the way shopping malls interact and engage with their customers in an effective, and informative way.

This award confirms our status as an industry leader."

The Social Media Awards 2012 recognised the best in the industry, covering 12 different categories ranging from best social media page, best campaign and best application. Over 250 organisations in Bahrain were shortlisted, reflecting the growing presence and importance of social media use in the community. Bahrain City Centre was awarded 'Best Facebook Page' on several key merits including unique content, fan interaction and fan engagement including updates and response times.

More than 100 social media users attended the event, and it was also streamed live by Bahrain News Agency with more than 600 viewers from nine countries worldwide.

Today, Bahrain City Centre has more than  118,500 Facebook Fans and over 3,300 followers on Twitter.
