To explore opportunities for growth in the travel industry together
Bahrain Airport Company hosted April's travel agents' gathering of the Association of Bahrain Travel and Tours Agents (ABTTA) that took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa on 13 April 2010 to explore opportunities and discuss means of growing the travel industry together.
Over 120 delegates including Bahrain's travel agents and officials from Bahrain Airport Company attended the meeting, during which Dr. Osama Alali, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company illustrated plans to expand and enhance Bahrain International Airport capabilities and transform aviation into a key contributor to the Kingdom's GDP. It will utilize the latest technologies in airport operations that ensure optimal levels of service quality. Furthermore Bahrain Airport Company will build on the Airport's key strengths by maintaining its position as one of the fastest and friendliest airports in the region. It also plans to develop the Airport into a world-class facility attracting airlines and carriers from around the world.
Dr. Alali went on to highlight the significance of Bahrain Airport Company's efforts on the local travel industry and called for greater cooperation with ABTTA who are regarded as key stakeholders to support the Company's vision to establish Bahrain as destination itself:
"Bahrain Airport Company is here with a critical mandate, to transform the nation's aviation and travel industry into a key contributor to the Kingdom's economy.
"Bottom line, Bahrain Airport Company is about establishing a concrete foundation for a competitive travel and aviation industry," he continued. "Yet to achieve this, we would appreciate the support of the local travel agent community; we urge you all to come forward with innovative solutions and contributions that will improve Bahrain's travel industry."
