Mr. Saeed Al Junaibi was speaking at the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AUS and Al Nahda National Schools, held at the AUS Main Building on campus.

The MoU signed by His Excellency Saeed Al Junaibi and Ali Shuhamy, AUS Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, was part of the Sharakah strategic initiative offered by the Office of Enrollment Management to promote sustainable partnerships with selected schools from across the United Arab Emirates.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Peter Heath, Chancellor of AUS; Dr. Thomas John Hochstettler, AUS Provost; Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs; Dr. Olin Cleve McDaniel, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration; deans and other senior officials of AUS, and His Excellency the General Advisor Mr. Khalifa Alhosani and the Deputy Director General Ms. Basma Al Junaibi, as well as the academic administration of the Al Nahda National Schools.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Heath said, "Sharakah gives us the opportunity to create a link between the university and schools on one hand and between the university and employers on the other." He expressed satisfaction over this partnership and cooperation with Al Nahda National Schools.

Mr. Saeed Al Junaibi thanked AUS for providing this opportunity to partner with the university. "We at Al Nahda National Schools are proud to say that the first option our students choose for pursuing their undergraduate study is the American University of Sharjah," he said. "In fact, our graduates are a living testimony to the quality education they have received here on this campus, thereby encouraging their peers to follow suit," Al Junaibi added.

"On this occasion, I would like to express my deep appreciation for the great contributions made by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, and Ruler of Sharjah, in the cultural and educational fields not only in the UAE but in the international arena as well," said Al Junaibi.

This partnership aims to enhance the role of AUS in providing the necessary tools for secondary students to prepare for the university journey, said Shuhaimy. "AUS will provide partial scholarships to deserving students selected from lists provided by the school and will offer patronage of selected research, cultural, social and sporting events to be organized by Al Nahda National Schools," he said. AUS will also offer workshops for teachers and students and will provide university preparation courses, including SAT and TOEFL preparation courses, to students from the school, he added.
