Auchan, France's leading retailer, to implement a nation-wide, Voice-over-IP solution with over 40,000 IP phones using a comprehensive Mitel solution deployed and supported by AMEC SPIE Communications.
Paris, France, March 10th, 2004 - Mitel, a leading provider of IP communications solutions, today announced a large-scale implementation for Auchan, a global retailer of foodstuffs, personal care, household items and leisure goods. In conjunction with France’s AMEC SPIE Communications, an industry-leading systems integrator, Mitel will provide Auchan with a converged voice and data solution. The solution will allow Auchan to seamlessly network their hypermarket locations across France, and deliver retail-specific telephony features that enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
Auchan will replace their traditional voice network with the Mitel 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP) solution in over 200 locations in France. This Voice-over-IP deployment comprises over 40,000 IP phones, including 10,000 IP DECT wireless terminals. The solution will generate significant savings on both voice calls and operating costs. In addition, Auchan will benefit from the national coverage and communications expertise of AMEC SPIE Communications as the data and voice integrator.
