The best choice for those wishing to build their capacities
"Equipping 52 public sector employees with report preparation skills" Habiba Al Marashi said.
Mrs. Habiba Al Marashi, CEO of the Arab CSR Network, revealed that the network has become the favorite platform for those wishing to develop their capabilities to prepare CSR reports for their corporation.
She pointed out that the network has become the first certified training partner for GRI-G4 in the Arab world. In this spirit it continued its GRI training programs within UAE and abroad. Thus it has trained 37corporates on Report preparation and equipped 52 staff with the skills necessary in sustainability reporting.
She stated that the network had prepared a series of training programs, which cover all aspects of a corporation's sustainability performance, tailor-made to fit their needs and requirements, along with relevant high added value, because it provides the participants with accredited certificates after their attainment of the required knowledge. These training courses are highly beneficial to stakeholders in different areas of specialization, including corporate social responsibility consultants, students, researchers and operational teams.
She added that the introduction of the GRI - G4 in the Arabic language is one of the outstanding achievements of the network in the area of training during the year 2014.
This strategic step helped corporations in finding solutions for their sustainability performance in their own mother tongue, thus overcoming language barriers. This encourages corporations to conduct reporting on the practice of corporate social responsibility and sustainability and strengthens the culture of reporting in the region. The Network seeks to strive to remain faithful to its Arab identity, and it provides regional corporations with an effective tool with which to measure sustainability and upgrading it to global standards.
She confirmed that sustainability reporting has become more desirable in various parts of the Arab world, to companies from a variety of sectors, starting from the private sector to the public sector where many are keen to use sustainability reporting as a means to scrutinize their practice of social responsibility, and to promote transparency. The network has helped many corporations to achieve this through training programs on the SRI; in the framework of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). It has encouraged many cooperation's to issue their sustainably reports, where GRI helps to better assess the impact of its operations on the environment and society.
