Dubai-based sales Veteran Rony Tazbaz to spearhead company's efforts in the Middle East

DUBAI and SUNNYVALE, CA - May 5, 2006 - Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARBA), the leading spend management solutions provider, today announced that it has appointed Rony Tazbaz,  to lead its commercial efforts in the Middle East. A seasoned technology sales veteran, Mr. Tazbaz brings more than 14 years of enterprise software experience to the position.

Mr. Tazbaz joins Ariba as Regional Manager, Middle East operations, from SSA Global/Baan where he spent his last seven years managing the company's Middle East Direct & Indirect Sales Operations. In his new role with Ariba, Mr. Tazbaz will be responsible for all aspects of Ariba's Middle East operations based in Dubai, with a region-wide mandate to drive direct sales, and establish a network of partners in the vast and diverse territory.
