Increased participation from Dubai is strong indication of UAE's leadership in construction industry

Dubai, April 4th 2006 - The Arabian Group for Exhibitions and Conferences announced today from Dubai the upcoming 12th session of the international building exhibition, BUILDEX, to be held between the 12th and 17th of May.

Mr. Alaa Hilal, Director General of the Arabian Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, stated that Dubai was selected as the location for the launch of existing campaign in light of the prominent role that the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular, plays in all investment, construction and media sectors worldwide.

BUILDEX was able during the eleven previous sessions to prove itself as the key specialized exhibition in the Middle East and achieved substantial progress in terms of extensive participation from all over the world. The management of the Arabian Group for Exhibitions and Conferences announced that the 12th session of the international building exhibition "BUILDEX" will receive 1300 trademarks involving 28 specialties. These are represented by approximately 440 companies coming from more than 52 Arab and foreign countries.

Participation in this year's event from construction companies operating in Dubai is expected to increase by 40%. The increased participation from Dubai is seen as a strong validation of the UAE's leadership in the regional and global investment and construction industry. With the value of all construction projects announced to date in the UAE at AED 624 billion, demand for construction materials is at an all time high, which make the visit to the Buildex exhibition a great opportunity to all parties workign in the construction and real estate industries. BUILDEX is not only an opportunity for surrounding GCC and international companies to get business from Dubai, but a huge opportunity for Dubai construction companies to get international business.

In a statement made, Mr. Alaa Hilal explained the efforts made by the management of the Arabian Group to present the important role of the exhibition industry in the region, and the importance of the regional exhibitions in relation to the international exhibitions.

According to Mr. Hilal, "Such exhibitions bring together manufacturers, producers, importers and dealers from all over the Middle East region. This is the perfect opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and to make deals, especially in light of the fact that representatives of most international companies are present in these exhibitions along with the technologies, services and products that suit the Middle East in terms of technology, implementation methods and imported materials. This makes the regional exhibition more significant than the international exhibition for exhibitors and visitors alike and make Buildex one of the most important to visit."

The international Building exhibition "BUILDEX" recently participated in CONSTRUCT, the Construction Exhibition 2006 held in Abu Dhabi, which took place from 2-5th April. This exhibition coincided with the Arabian properties forum in which Mr. Alaa Hilal gave a lecture titled 'A Field Study in Real Estate Investments in Syria'.

In addition, the Arabian Group BUILDEX 2006 is inviting a large number of economic and construction bodies, investment companies, ministries and VIP's from all over the Arab world. This reflects the belief of the Arabian Group management in the role of the exhibition industry to encourage economic dialogue between the countries of the region and proves that Syria is one of the important industrial hubs.
