Integration Facilitates Enhanced Monitoring and Managing Multi-Vendor Data Center

Dubai-UAE: 20 July, 2011 -- APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in critical power and cooling services, today announced the completion of a tightly coupled software integration of APC InfraStruxureTM Central with HP Operations Manager, allowing IT managers to understand the impact of physical layer changes on IT systems and business applications.  

IT managers can now detect and monitor real-time changes in power, cooling and environment through HP Operations Manager to efficiently reduce risk, raise data center system availability and increase energy efficiency.  The Smart Plug-In (SPI) will integrate InfraStruxure Central's device hierarchy, device status, and monitored data functionalities into the HP Operations Manager environment.

The integrated solution:

  • Shares key data points of multi-vendor devices including alarm notifications and historical data on the targeted server deployment environment;

  • Provides a comprehensive overview of the physical and IT environments' independent operations and their influence on each other as well as critical operating information on power and cooling capacity;

  • Brings visibility, control and automation crucial for a more efficient enterprise to help maintain IT service levels.
