The Grand Summer Raffle is a gift from Dubai Summer Surprises to its visitors - ten opportunities to win prizes worth Dhs 450,000 each.
Syrian national, Tawfiq Qabani has been living in Dubai for the past 12 years. "I find the raffle draws very attractive and have bought coupons off and on. The prizes have been very attractive. This year, I have made it a point to buy the coupon this year, since my office is located next to the kiosk at Deira City Centre and it is a constant reminder of the huge prize. In fact, two winners per series would have been better so that the probability of winning is increased."
Abdul Aziz Mohammed from Saudi Arabia, who is accompanied by his wife and children Sarah, Nouf, Rawan and Sultan said, "I am really impressed with the huge prizes that are being given away through the 'Grand Summer Raffle Draws'. I participate in every raffle draw that happens in Dubai, since I can't resist the temptation of inviting lady luck to my home."
Palestinian national Nader Hussain, a resident of UAE said, "I have consistently bought coupons of any raffle draw held in Dubai. I have already bought 10 coupons for the Grand Summer Raffle and I hope luck is with me this year. I know that if I were to win, I could live off comfortably for the rest of my life. I strongly believe that luck favors anybody who tries."
Muscat residents, Mariam Abdullah and her husband Al Saif Ali accompanied by niece Leena visit Dubai for all the major events. Mariam said, "We love coming to Dubai because of its excellent facilities. Dubai's appealing offers only keep getting better and we hope that we win some of the prizes that are on offer."
Tickets for the fourth draw of the BMW raffle, which will be conducted on July 9, 2004, are up for sale. The raffle, the-first-of-its-kind promotion, is being organised by the DSS Office, in association with Arabian Gulf Mechanical Centre (AGMC), the exclusive importer of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce in Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates, and Emarat.
'The Grand Summer Raffle' coupons are available at 33 Emarat stations in Dubai, Deira City Centre, Baniyas Street, Al Fahidi Street and Gold Souq. Among the Emarat Stations where the tickets are made available include Al Khubaisi, Hor Al Anz, Kuwait, Al Aweer, Nad Al Hamar, Beach, Jebel Ali, Naharwan, Dana, Al Wejdan, Al Muhaisna, Taqniya, Muteena, Al Bustan, Al Madares, Galadari, Atrium/C-Store, Abu Khadra, Bridge, Karama, Al Wasl, Bin Hendi, Dubai Internet City, Al Rajhan, Al Raed, Garhoud, Safa Park, Lamtara, Chicago Beach, Al Dhiyafa, Al Adhed, Al Hassa, Umm Suqueim, and Jatabiyah (Ras Al Khor).
As part of the promotion, every week one winner will walk away with a BMW X3, a BMW 520i and Dh100,000 in cash bringing the total value of the weekly prize money to Dh450,000. Dubai Business Channel telecasts the proceedings live during the 'Grand Summer Raffle' draws, every Friday at 9pm.
Dubai Summer Surprises 2004 is currently in the Sweets Surprises, which is being organised by Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing till July 7, followed by Cartoon Surprises by Dubai Ports Authority from July 8-14, Flower Surprises by Dubai Municipality from July 15-21, Heritage Surprises by Dubai Customs from July 22-28, Adventure Surprises by Dubai Police from July 29-August 4, Knowledge Surprises by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry from August 5-11, Back-2-School Surprises by the Department of Economic Development from August 12-18 and ends with the Colour Surprises by the Department of Health and Medical Sciences from August 19- 27, 2004.
