The American University in the Emirates, an institution based in Dubai International Academic City which offers accredited degree programmes, recently signed an articulation agreement with Edexcel, the UK's largest awarding body and part of Pearson, the world's largest education services provider.

This agreement marks another step in AUE and Edexcel's endeavours to provide students with a solid educational foundation upon which to build fulfilling careers.

As part of the agreement, AUE will grant holders of Edexcel BTEC HNDs credit toward the relevant Associate or Bachelor's programmes. Moreover, as the university is constantly adding new degree paths and opening new faculties, the agreement will apply to all present and future degree programmes offered by the university.

"We are extremely pleased to be associated with AUE." Mark Andrews, Edexcel's MENA Regional Director, commented. "The university has a number of agreements in place with various universities, colleges, institutes and companies based in diverse locations including the USA, UK, Puerto Rico, Italy, Turkey, Lebanon, the UAE, India and the Republic of Albania. Students are undoubtedly being given the opportunity to benefit from truly international education experiences."

In line with this, Prof. Nabeel, AUE's Provost stressed that "AUE's partnerships with local and international educational institutions and business organizations is a giant leap towards the university focal thrusts for growth and development.  The opportunities the agreements would bring do not only cater to faculty development but student-exchange programs as well."

AUE offers a range of degrees which are fully accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation. Currently, these include Associated Degrees in Business Management, Computer Information Technology, Media and Design and Media and Mass Communication as well as Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration, Design, Media and Mass Communication and Computer Science. More information may be found on the university's website www.aue.ae.

Edexcel's exclusive BTEC qualifications provide a practical, real-world approach to learning alongside a theoretical background. They are designed both to replicate the professional working environment and provide learners with the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive global market. Various opportunities for higher education are available for BTEC HND holders in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia.
