Flagship products offer the best-in-class high-definition multimedia and gaming features

Dubai, UAE, June 13, 2007: In its ongoing drive to deliver the ultimate gaming and PC experience to home and office users, AMD (NYSE: AMD) today introduced two industry-leading, next-generation graphics chipsets, the AMD 690 series and the ATI Radeon HD 2000 series, to customers and end-users in the Middle East.

The AMD 690 series is the company's first chipset that brings together the combined strength of AMD's platform technology with ATI's high-end Radeon X1250 graphics processors units (GPU). The AMD 690 series also delivers the premium Windows Vista experience without compromise. PC users will enjoy all of the eye candy the Windows Vista Aero user interface has to offer, including the ability to switch between numerous multimedia, Internet-browsing and general office applications while maintaining strong system performance.

"The AMD 690 series and the ATI Radeon HD 2000 series highlight our commitment to setting industry standards for innovation and customer-centric solutions," said Gautam Srivastava, Vice President, Sales and Marketing and Managing Director, Middle East, Africa (MEA) and Pakistan. "By merging two leading technologies, we have been able to deliver phenomenal gaming and multimedia experiences to the region. We are confident that these solutions will revolutionize the regional graphics market."

The AMD 690 chipset family, featuring ATI Radeon graphics, is the first chipset for AMD CPUs that supports ATI AvivoTM technology for smooth video playback and true-to-life images for all multimedia, including high-definition content.

"With its leading image quality and 3-D graphics capabilities, the AMD 690 chipset family is the first chipset with integrated HDMI and a separate DVI. The AMD 690 series chipset is a proven performer, easily handling the demanding workloads of today's PC users. It is the ideal multimedia platform as it provides more display choices than any other chipset available today," added Srivastava.

The ATI Radeon HD 2000 series is a top-to-bottom line of ten discrete GPUs for both desktop and mobile platforms, delivering best-in-class immersive high-definition gaming and multimedia playback. It delivers advanced visual effects, breathtaking realism and astounding frame rates at all resolutions. The ATI Radeon HD 2000 series also builds on AMD's Windows Vista leadership.

"Unique in the industry, the ATI Radeon HD 2000 series offers a new simplified video and sound solution through High-Definition Multimedia Interface, making it easy to switch between watching content on a high definition television and working at a monitor as only a single cable is needed for both video and audio," said Vijay Sharma, Director of Desktop Discrete Product Marketing at AMD. "The ATI Radeon HD 2000 series delivers a compelling game-play experience never seen before in DirectX 10 games."

Gaith Kadir, AMD's Regional Director for Middle East, Africa & Pakistan added: "One of our key focus areas has been to empower our distributors and partners with leading-edge solutions that will contribute to their continued growth in the market. To achieve this goal we work closely with industry leaders to fulfill the needs our mutual customers."
