DUBAI - United Arab Emirates: ALUMCO LLC, a specialized aluminium faade contractor and UAE's largest manufacturer, has won a landmark contract to supply a total of 36,500 square meters, worth Dhs 40 million, of its high quality aluminum facades to the prestigious 44-storied Citadel Tower at Business Bay. As per the deal entered into with the contractor M/S Al Shafar General Contracting LLC, Alumco will supply 27,000 square meters of unitized curtain wall, 6,700 square meter of composite cladding and 2,500 square meter of louver and aluminium screen and 300m of handrails for the Citadel Tower.
Strategically located at Business Bay, The Citadel is amidst Dubai's World Trade Centre, the Dubai Financial Centre, luxury hotels and resorts. With next-generation facilities and an unmatched inspiring ambience, the tower will offer spacious conference rooms, a plush business lounge, and a well appointed business centre with state-of-the-art facilities and convention halls with a total area of 3,970 square feet.
The work on the project which commenced in Aug 2006 is expected to be completed by December 2007.This project will be cladded with unitized aluminum panels 1.5 m wide by 3.4 m high, including some panels to be used for panoramic lift delay starting from the ground floor up to the roof supported by 16m wide steel beam cladded with stainless steel.
The company's high quality unitized system has been used in other impressive projects like Sky Gardens Tower at DIFC, Liwa Height and Fortune Tower in Jumeirah Lake Towers and Emirates Crown in Dubai Marina.
