Over 50 full English t raining programs executed successfully so far; 100 more to be undertaken in the next 2 to 3 years

Alfalak Electronic Equipment & Supplies Co., a leading provider of technology-based end-to-end solutions in the Middle East, is initiating an English training program for employees espe-cially geared towards Saudi Nationals as part of its Career Development and Training and De-velopment strategies.

Alfalak's HR department will oversee the training program in collaboration with the head office and departmental management. The company has so far offered more than 50 full-language training programs to its employees, with plans underway to provide 100 more programs over the next two to three years.

The program is being developed in cooperation with Alfalak's sister company, Al Khaleej Training & Education. Al Khaleej's "Direct English" Language Center that initially conducts proficiency tests to determine the appropriate learning level for each participant. Once included in the Center's roster, students undergo a full training program covering 80 hours of instruction in eight weeks of attendance. Their progress is monitored through three tests that ensure the proper assimilation of the course material.

"English and computer skills have become fundamental to job success, which is why we decided to launch this program for improving the English language proficiencies of our em-ployees. This initiative is particularly helpful for our Saudi nationals who will be empowered with the English language skills they need to excel in their jobs and careers. These kinds of programs reflect Alfalak's focus on its people, the company's most important assets," said Ahmed Ashadawi, CEO and President, Alfalak Electronic Equipment & Supplies Co.

Aside from the English training program, Alfalak employees will also have access to a User Productivity Kit (UPK) developed by Oracle. The easy-to-use and comprehensive self-learning content development, deployment and maintenance kit can help enhance project, program and user productivity. Complete details on the UPK are available at http://www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/upk/index.html.

The training initiative is part of ongoing efforts to deploy Career Development (CD) and Train-ing Development (T&D) frameworks that align Alfalak's human resources, processes, goals, strategies and performance. The company's new CD and T&D guidelines and philosophies are based on global best practices derived from trusted sources such as the American Society for Training and Development's WLP Competence Model for Learning and Performance (ASTD-WPL) and the Oxford Handbook of Strategy.
