Dubai: A recent report by the Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector of Dubai Economy shows that the number of operating businesses in Al Warqa has reached 1,645 to date. Of these, 54 per cent licences are Commercial, followed by Professional (44 per cent) and the rest related to Tourism and Industry.
The report presents the the volume of commercial activities in Al Warqa, providing the business community an overview of the opportunities available in the area.
In terms of legal forms of the active licences in Al Warqa, Sole Establishment ranked first at 70 per cent, followed by Limited Liability Company (LLC) (21 per cent), and Civil Company (4 per cent). The legal forms also include One-Person Limited Liability Companies, Branches of Companies based in other Emirates, Branches of GCC Companies, Branches of Free Zone Companies, General Partnership, Public Shareholding Companies, and Limited Partnership.
The top activities for the companies operating in the area include: Restaurants, Perfumes and cosmetics; Readymade garments, Preparation of snacks; Gifts, Fashion and clothing design, Coffee shops, Handbags and leather products, Jewellery trade in non-precious metals, and Indoor decoration plants.
The report showed that 497 licences were issued in Al Warqa during 2020, a growth of 111% compared to 235 licenses issued during 2019.
Al Warqa is an emerging and rapidly developing area situated around 25 kilometres east of Dubai Creek. It is an established residential community located on southern outskirts of Dubai.
