Roads and Transport Authority - Mohammed Al Munji: HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently received in his office HE Michel Miraillet, France Ambassador to the UAE, in the presence of HE Majdi Abed, France Consul General in Dubai. During the meeting, the two parties discussed mutual cooperation between the RTA and French companies specialized in the operation of public transport means, construction of roads, and mass transit systems, and how to push up this cooperation further ahead.

The meeting was attended from the RTA by Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Public Transport Agency, and Dr. Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation.

Al Tayer briefed the French delegation on the key projects the RTA intends to undertake in the near future covering infrastructure, road networks, and transit means including the construction & operation of rail projects costing billions of dirhams. Examples of such projects include Route 2020 for extending the Red Line of the Dubai Metro to the exhibition yard of Expo 2020, extending the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, and constructing Phase II of Dubai Tram project. "Future projects offer a great opportunity for companies to bid for tenders released by the RTA," added Al Tayer.

The French Ambassador to the UAE praised the solid bilateral relations between the UAE and France, and hailed the sweeping development witnessed by the Emirate of Dubai in a record time rendering it an attractive venue for entrepreneurs, business leaders and tourists. He expressed his hope to see more of cooperation between the French businesses and the RTA in constructing and managing infrastructure of roads & mass transportation.
