Microsoft Great Plains ERP solution from IMTAC Technologies enables Al Abbar to closely manage processes and integrate business divisions
Dubai, 15th September, 2004: Microsoft Business Solutions is helping Al Abbar Group to gain better control over its business processes, with the deployment of a Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains ERP system. The solution, which was rolled out by Microsoft Business Solutions partner IMTAC Technologies, provides powerful business reporting and management tools for the Al Abbar group companies, and will help the company efficiently manage and support its business and future growth.
Al Abbar Aluminium Group is the leading contractor specializing in manufacturing and installation of architectural aluminum and stainless steel facades and curtain walling systems specially designed for major projects, towers and complexes throughout the region. The Group has six operating divisions, all of which are run from its Dubai head quarters. The new solution will provide much greater integration of processes between the different divisions.
"Our previous management information system was somewhat fragmented, limiting an efficient and seamless consolidation of our operations between divisions. Great Plains allows us to consolidate systems across the whole group, as well as gives us much more powerful project management between divisions and better overall visibility of processes," explained Manoj Gopalkrishnan, IT Manager, Al Abbar.
The Al Abbar solution comprises Microsoft Great Plains Financial and Project Accounting modules, running on Windows 2000 server and a Microsoft SQL database. The system currently serves 15 users at head office, although this is set to expand. IMTAC Technologies handled system design and deployment, and is now handling support and discussing further projects with Al Abbar, according to Raju Ramesh, General Manager of IMTAC Technologies.
"The Great Plains solution gives Al Abbar the management tools that provide greater insight and control over their business processes to facilitate further growth, and establishes them with a firm technology on the industry-standard Microsoft platform that will allow them to deploy new solutions in future, such as CRM, document management and business intelligence," Ramesh said.
Microsoft Business Solutions applications are designed to enable small, medium and enterprise scale businesses to integrate their processes and information to improve business agility, increase business insight and become more efficient. The high level of functionality and flexibility of Microsoft Great Plains is proving to be a major selling point for companies that want to gain control over their business processes.
"Al Abbar has been involved in the construction of the envelope of some of the tallest buildings in the world, and is involved in many prestigious projects around the region, including the Burj Al Arab, Emirates Towers, Dubai International Airport and Dubai International Financial City. It is also involved in several upcoming projects, including the new Dubai Airport expansion and is well poised for major participation in the region's robust expansion. Microsoft is very pleased to be working with Imtac to enable this leading company to gain better insight into its business processes and to realize its expansion plans," said Rajesh Deepchandani, Solution Partner Account Manager, Microsoft Business Solutions.
