Ahlia University (AU) , the first private university in Kingdom, and Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), the leading professional training institute for the financial sector in Bahrain, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) , to provide value-added services to their respective academic programmes through bilateral cooperation.

The agreement was signed at AU's campus in Manama by Professor Abdulla Al Hawaj, AU's President and Mr. Garry Muriwai, Director of Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF). The signing ceremony was attended by Professor. Bakr Hassan, AU's VP for Planning & Development, Professor Wajeeh ELali, AU's VP for Administration and Finance, Dr. Mohammed Alkhozai, Head of Academic & Executive Centre at BIBF and a number of officials from both institutions.

Professor Al Hawaj said," This agreement comes as part of our commitment to work closely with professional and reputable institutes both in and outside Bahrain to provide quality education and research services to our students and the community at large,". He added that the AU-BIBF agreement offers students and faculty at both institutes an excellent opportunity to develop their research skills and enrich the educational value accrued.

On his part, Mr. Garry Muriwai said, " We are delighted to sign this MOU with Ahlia University,". "We believe that our joint efforts will eventually lead to fostering our mutual teaching and research resources and empower our students and faculty to effectively contribute to the development of Bahrain and the GCC economies," he added.

The signed MOU aims at opening each respective institution's course offerings to the others signatory's student bodies, initiate exchange of faculty and increase contact among students and faculty through joint collaborative seminars to foster learning and dissemination of knowledge.
