27 February 2007
Dubai, UAE. AGMC, exclusive importer of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, announced its highest sales ever to close 2006 with a 12 per cent sales increase, achieving 3,156 unit sales in comparison to last year's 2,830 units. The growth also establishes AGMC as the highest sales volume importer in the Middle East.

The 12 per cent growth was due in large part to the BMW 7 Series, recording its best ever yearly sales, in addition to several new product launches including the Z4 Roadster LCI, Z4 M Roadster, Z4 Coupe and Z4 M Coupe, 3 Series Coupe, BMW X3 LCI and the BMW M6 Convertible. Of the 12 per cent increase, the BMW X5, as well as the BMW 3, 5 and 7 Series models shared a 25% growth margin each.

"We expect our double digit growth in 2006 to positively translate into further increase as 2007 moves forward," said Stathis I Stathis, General Manager of AGMC. "Increasing our customer satisfaction through the implementation of several new initiatives will be the key to our success for the future; most of the efforts are directed towards aftersales, where the addition of a substantial number of fully skilled personnel, together with our heavy investments in expanding existing facilities in Dubai which are set for completion in August of this year, will enhance even further AGMC's position in the luxury segment of the automobile business in the UAE," continued Stathis.

AGMC also announced that they have started the implementation of the new BMW Premium Selection program, which will be offered to customers in the third quarter of 2007, offering pre-owned vehicles in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The Premium Selection program is a new used car program with worldwide consistent product and quality standards available on selected vehicles through AGMC.

"The Middle East is one of the world's largest markets in terms of BMW 7 Series sales. At AGMC specifically, 7 Series sales, alongside BMW X5 sales, have increased due to high demands for both luxury performance saloons and sports activity vehicles," detailed Stathis. "With the introduction of new products, our growth margin is sure to continue rising, and the implementation of the Premium Selection program in the third quarter of this year, will immensely assist our targets as demand for pre-owned BMW vehicles continues rising."

"AGMC plans to launch several new BMW products in 2007, which will help us continue our growth for the year and beyond," said Peter Ihde, National Sales and Marketing Manager, AGMC.

"These products will include the all-new BMW X5, the BMW 3 Series Convertible, the BMW 5 Series LCI, and the BMW 6 Series LCI, in addition to the all-new MINI," explained Ihde.
